Vainglory: 5v5 mode is available for testing

Super Evil Megacorp, the developer of the most popular MOBA on tablets Vainglory, opened the registration for testing of the brand-new 5v5 mode.

Vainglory originally provided a small map with only one line and a jungle, which is not typical for other MOBAs. On the one hand, one lane map ensured fast-paced gameplay and constant fighting, which resulted in matches being fast and entertaining – a very important factor for mobile games. On the other hand, the game sacrificed strategic depth common to other MOBAs – only one lane and 3 characters greatly limited variety of possible game scenarios.

This year Super Evil Megacorp started to work on a brand-new mode – 5v5. The experience should be much more typical for MOBA players – there will be 3 lanes and 5 heroes on each side of the conflict. And it looks like the developers are finally ready to give players a chance to try the new mode out. If you want to test the new map, head over to the special page and register by entering your email address. Those who will be lucky enough to be accepted for testing will not only be the first to try the new map, but also will get some special rewards such as a special “Founding 5v5” badge.

In case 5v5 mode will be received positively by the community, there is a high probability that it will become a standard mode for competitive scene. It will most likely result in significant roster shuffles as the established teams will have to bring two new players to their line-ups. Also it should be noted, that the whole game, including heroes, is balanced around 3v3 mode, so the developers will a hard time trying to rebalance everything around the new 5v5 mode.
